Cornwall County Council

Cornwall County Council (Cornish: Konteth Konsel Kernow) was the county council of the non-metropolitan of Cornwall. It came into its powers on 1 April 1889 and was abolished on 1 April 2009. 

Cornwall Council 

Cornwall Council (Cornish: Konsel Kernow) is the unitary authority for Cornwall, not including the Isles of Scilly, which has its own unitary council. The council, and its predecessor Cornwall County Council 

Council of the Isles of Scilly

The Council of the Isles of Scilly is a sui generis unitary local government authority covering the Isles of Scilly off the west coast of Cornwall. It is currently made up of 16 seats, with all councillors being independents. The council was created in 1890 as the Isles of Scilly Rural District Council and was renamed in 1974. 

Parish & Town Councils  

Parish councils are civil local authorities found in Cornwall & England which are the lowest tier of local government. They are elected corporate bodies, with variable tax raising powers, and they carry out beneficial public activities in geographical areas known as civil parishes

The "Big deal" Failure

From 2022 - 2023 the Cornwall Council failed to go forward with the "Big Deal" for Cornwall
